Your data stays yours.

The short version

Denglish is designed so there is almost nothing to collect. Your profile, your level, your mistake history, your streaks — all of it lives on your own device, in your browser's local storage. We run no accounts system, no analytics trackers, and no servers that receive your learning data.

What stays on your device

Your name, your CEFR level, your interface language, your exercise progress, XP, streaks, and the mistake log that powers your adaptive drills. All stored locally on your phone or computer. Delete the app's data or clear your browser storage and it is gone — we keep no copy, because we never receive one.

The AI coach

When you spar with the AI coach, the text of the conversation is sent to our AI backend (running on Cloudflare, the same infrastructure that hosts this site) so it can generate replies, corrections, and your personalized drills. Conversations are processed to run the session and are not sold or used for advertising. Voice recordings are never sent to our servers — see "Microphone and speech" above.

Microphone and speech

Speaking drills and sparring use your browser's built-in speech recognition to transcribe what you say. That transcription is handled by your browser and its vendor (for example Google, in Chrome); your voice audio is not sent to, or stored on, any Magna Worldwide server. Microphone access is used only while you are actively doing a speaking drill, and only after you grant permission.

Payments

Paid plans are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy — we never see or store your card numbers.

Children

Denglish does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data at all beyond what stays on the user's own device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example when new features arrive — the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use of Denglish after a change means you accept the updated policy.
